Amaç: Akılcı ilaç kullanımı konusundaki veli tutumu, çocuk ve toplum sağlığı üzerinde önemli etkiler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada ebeveynlerin, çocuklarının ilaç kullanımı konusundaki tutumlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Atatürk Üniversitesi, Akdeniz Üniversitesi ve Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi diş hekimliği fakültelerine başvuran çocuk hastaların ebeveynleri arasından, sözlü onam alınarak çalışmaya katılmak isteyenler seçilmiş ve anket çalışması uygulanmıştır. Verilerin toplandığı anket çalışması, içerisinde ebeveynlerin sosyal-ekonomik durumu, çocuğunun sistemik ve ilaç kullanım durumunu ve ebeveynin çeşitli ilaç kullanımı durumlarındaki tutumlarını belirleyen 29 adet soru ile yapılmıştır.Bulgular: Çalışmada 200 kadın 100 erkek ebeveyn bulunmaktadır. Bu kişilerin 128 tanesi ilk-orta öğrenim mezunu iken 96 tanesi lise mezunudur. Çalışmaya katılan ebeveynlerin yaş ortalaması 38,81±5,86’dır. Ebeveynlerin 104 tanesi %34,7 soğuk algınlığı ve grip durumlarında çocuğuna antibiyotik kullandırırken, 196 tanesi %65,3 soğuk algınlığı ve grip durumlarında çocuğuna antibiyotik kullandırtmamaktadır. ‘Çocuğunuza antibiyotik kullandırırken endişe duyduğunuz konular var mı?’ sorusunu 179 kişi %60 ‘evet’ olarak 121 kişi %40 ‘hayır’ olarak cevaplamıştır. Çalışmaya katılan ebeveynlerden 44 tanesi %14,6 diş hekimi çocuğuna ilaç yazmadığında muayenenin veya tedavinin eksik olduğunu düşünmekte iken ebeveynlerin 25 tanesi %8,3 diş hekimi çocuğunun tedavilerine antibiyotik tedavisi uygulamadan başlarsa, tedavinin eksik başladığını düşünmektedir.Sonuç: Katılımcı ebeveynlerin ilaç kullanımı konusundaki bazı tutumlarında yanlışlar bulunduğu ve bu konularda bilinçlendirilmeleri gerektiği belirlenmiştir

Purpose: The guest attitude towards the use of reasonable medications has significant effects on the health of the child and the community. The study is aimed at evaluating the attitudes of parents and their children towards the use of medications. Tools and Methods: Among the parents of children who apply to the Faculty of Dentistry at the Atatürk University, the University of the Mediterranean and the University of Adnan Menderes, those who wish to participate in the study with oral approval have been selected and the survey study has been implemented. The survey, in which the data were collected, included 29 questions that determine the social and economic status of the parents, the systemic and drug use status of the child and the attitudes of the parents in the various drug use situations. Of these, 128 are primary and secondary school graduates, while 96 are high school graduates. The average age of parents participating in the study is 38.81±5.86. 104 of the parents donated an antibiotic to their child in cases of cold and flu, while 196 of the parents donated an antibiotic to their child in cases of cold and flu. "Do you have any issues you worry about when giving your child antibiotics?" 179 people answered “yes” and 121 people answered “no” and 40 percent responded “no”. 44 percent of the parents who participated in the study, 14.6 percent of the dentists believed that the examination or treatment was missing when they did not prescribe medication to their child, while 25.3 percent of the parents believed that the treatment was missing when they did not apply antibiotic therapy. The result: it has been determined that the participating parents have some errors in their attitudes regarding the use of the drug and that they should be aware of these issues.

Objective: Parental attitudes about rational drug use have significant effects on children and community health. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the attitudes of parents about their children's drug use.Material and Methods: Participants were chosen from parents of pediatric patients referred to the dentistry faculty of Ataturk University, Akdeniz University and Adnan Menderes University and the questionnaire study was administered to those volunteering to participate in the study. A survey of the data was conducted using 29 questions that determined the parent's socio-economic status, the child's systemic and drug use status, and the attitudes of the parent in various drug use cases. Results: There were 200 female and 100 male parents in the study. 128 of the participants were primary and secondary school graduates, while 96 were high school graduates. The average age of the parents participating in the study was 38.81±5.86 years. While 104 34.7% of the parents used antibiotics for their children during a cold or flu, 196 65.3% did not use antibiotics in these cases. When we asked 'Do you have any concerns about using antibiotics for your child?' 179 parents 60% answered 'yes' and 121 40% answered 'no'. 44 14.6% of the parents who participated in the study believed that the examination or treatment was incomplete when the dentist did not prescribe medication, and 25 8.3% of the parents believed that the treatment began in an incomplete manner if the dentist started the treatment without an antibiotic prescription.Conclusion: It was determined that the participating parents had some incorrect beliefs about drug use and should be informed of these issues
