The study aims to measure the performance of the insurance sector, which is the financial mediator's role, and to study its impact on economic growth. First, the performance of the Turkish Insurance Sector between the years 2007-2018 was assessed by the rate analysis method, secondly, the relationship between the total primes produced in Turkey and GDP was studied. The purpose of financial analysis in insurance companies is to determine the durability of the financial structure of the companies. The active quality of the insurance companies is very important in terms of the sufficient payment power. The assets of the insurance companies must be in liquidity structure that can meet the need for cash, while on the one hand provide return. The active quality and liquidity rates in non-life branches are below the level that should be, while in life branches are sufficient. In the outskirts, the loss of the damage has caused the increase in the price of the damage. The composite rate is seen as higher than the life branch in the non-life branch. Although the technical remuneration rates don’t seem to be a big problem throughout the sector, it seems that in the non-life sector, especially the ownership/technical remuneration rates are higher than in the life sector. It has also been observed that there is a positive relationship between the total primes and economic growth.
