Ktouts/Ktuc Manastırı, Van Gölü Havzası Çarpanak Adası üzerinde yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada manastır bünyesindeki yapı birimlerinden Saint Jean Baptiste Kilisesi’nin iç mekan plastik süslemelerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu içerikten yola çıkarak plastik süslemeler üzerine kültürel değerler bağlamında etkileşimin olup olmadığı değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapının iç mekan bezeme öğeleri, duvar nişi ve haç işlemeli taşlar üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Her biri ayrı taş bloğuna kabartma tekniğinde işlenmiş tekli kompozisyon düzenlemesindedir. Bölgenin tarihsel sürecinin getirdiği birçok etkiyi kendi bünyesinde barındıran bezeme unsurlarında kültürel etkileşimler ile karşılaşılmaktadır. Özellikle Türk–İslam sanatının etkisi, ele alınan Ermeni mimari bezemelerinde karşımıza çıkan bulgulardır. Bu çalışmada, gerek görsel gerek teknik olarak belgelenen bezeme unsurlarının farklı nitelikte/işlevsellikte olduğu ve kompozisyon - motif açısından çeşitlilik göstermesinin yanı sıra ortak anlamlar taşıdığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Bezeme motifleri, sanat eğilimindeki çeşitlilik ile birlikte kültürel etkileşimin ve biraradalığın somut kültürel mirasını ortaya koyan verileri sunmaktadır.
Ktouts/Ktuc Monastery is located on the Van Lake Pool on the Çarpanak Island. This study aims to study the interior plastic decorations of the Saint Jean Baptiste Church from the building units within the monastery. From this content, it was tried to assess whether plastic decorations interact in the context of cultural values. The interior of the building is applied on the mural elements, wall niche and cross-processed stones. Each is in a single composition arrangement processed in a separate stone block. Many of the influences of the historical process of the region are encountered with cultural interactions in the elements of the crossing that host in its own interior. Especially the influence of Turkish-Islamic art is the findings that we face in the Armenian architectural scenes discussed. In this study, it has been concluded that the visual and technically documented spinal elements are in different qualities/functionalities and show diversity in terms of composition-motive as well as have common meanings. The motives of the casting, along with the diversity in the art tendency, provide data that reveal the concrete cultural heritage of cultural interaction and coexistence.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the interior plastic decorations of the Saint Jean Baptiste Church which is from building units in the monastery. On the basis of this content, it has been attempt to evaluations as to whether cultural interaction on plastic ornaments in the context of cultural values. The interior decoration items of the building were implemented on the wall niche and the Cross-Engraved Stones/Cross Stones. Each one is in a single composition arrangement embroidered on a separate stone block in relief technique. It is encountered with cultural interactions in the decoration items which contain in itself many of impact arriving from historical process of the region. In particular the influence of Turkish-Islamic art is the findings that encountered and synthesized in the Armenian architectural decorations. In this study, it was concluded that have a common meanings in addition to being diverse in terms of composition and motif, it is in the different qualified/functionality of the decoration items documented documented as both visually and technically. The decoration motifs, offers the data revealing the tangible cultural heritage of togetherness and cultural interaction together with the diversity in the artistic trend.
