Purpose: In this study, the aim was to study the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of the Nursing Incivility Scale. Method: The sample of this methodologically planned study was made by 505 nurses. The data of the study was collected using the cartridge method between April-June 2016. In the process of data collection, the sociodemographic Information Form and the Degree of Discomfort in Nursing were used. The validity of the Nursing Discomfort Measure was assessed by the validity of the scope, the validity of the concept of structure and the validity of the known groups; the reliability was assessed by the standard error, internal consistency and timeless unchanging. Results: Explanatory and verifying factors for the validity of the building were analyzed. The factor analysis of the Nursing Discomfort Scale, which consists of fourteen substances, described 58.029% of the variance. The verifying factor analysis found that the HNÖ showed a six-factor structure (X2/df CMIN/df 2.517, RMSEA 0.055, NFI 0.834 and CFI 0.902). The Cronbach Alfa reliability ratio of the sub-dimensions of the scale was 0.91-0.73. The test-re-test correlation ratio of the scale was statistically meaningful with the value of 0.98 (p<0.001). The measurement of discomfort in nursing was determined to be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool, where the Turkish form has acceptable levels of validity-confidence results.
Aim: In this study was aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Nursing Incivility Scale. Methods: 505 nurses formed the sample of this methodologically planned study. Research data was collected using snowball method in time that between April and June 2016. Sociodemographic Information Form and Nursing Inactivity Scale were used in data collection process. Validity of Nursing Incivility Scale was evaluated by content validity, construct validity and known groups validity; reliability was evaluated by standard error, internal consistency and time-invariance. Results: Explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis was performed for construct validity. Factor analysis of Nursing Incivility Scale consists of forty three item was explaining %58.029 of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis (Χ2/df CMIN/df 2.517, RMSEA 0.055, NFI 0.834 and CFI 0.902) revealed a six-factor structure. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficients ranged from 0.91 to 0.73. The test-retest correlation coefficient of the scale was found to be statistically significant with a value of 0.98 (p<0.001). Conclusion: It’s determined that, the Turkish version of Nursing Incivility Scale has acceptable level of validity and reliability and it can be used as a scale.
