Abstract:

The cultural development of the Republican period played a significant role in shaping modern men-women relations, the concept of an ideal society, and the formation of the modern family. This process was influenced not only by mass communication channels such as newspapers and magazines but also by the fictional world depicted in novels. Particularly in the early years of the Republic, a large number of novels revolved around women and related topics. Safiye Erol, an artist who distinguished herself with her unique identity, portrayed the issue of women in her works by drawing upon her intellectual perspective and personal experiences. In her novel 'Ülker Fırtınası', Nuran represents Safiye Erol's modern and idealized interpretation of women, encompassing a broad cultural perspective. This study aims to explore the characteristics of the ideal woman as depicted in Safiye Erol's novel 'Ülker Fırtınası', which is shaped by the transformative power of love.
