The aim of this study is to reveal the effect of school principals' perceived paternalistic leadership behaviors on organizational happiness. For this purpose, relational survey model, one of the survey models, was preferred in the research. While the population of the study was formed by 4235 teachers working in state schools in Tuzla district of Istanbul in 2019-2020 academic year; The sample of the study was 449 teachers. The data collected through the Paternalist Leadership Scale and the Organizational Happiness Scale were analyzed by t test, anova, correlation and regression analysis. In the study, it was determined that teachers 'perceptions of school principals' paternalist leadership behaviors did not differ significantly according to their gender, education level and seniority. Primary school teachers think that school principals exhibit more paternalistic leadership behaviors than high school teachers. While teachers' perceptions of organizational happiness did not differ significantly according to their gender and education level; It has been observed that the organizational happiness perceptions of primary school teachers are higher than middle school and high school teachers. In addition, it was determined that secondary school teachers' organizational happiness perceptions were higher than high school teachers. It was concluded that the organizational happiness perceptions of teachers with 5 years or less seniority were at a higher level than teachers with 6-10 years of seniority. There is a significant positive relationship between school principals' paternalistic leadership behaviors and organizational happiness. In addition, paternalist leadership behaviors of school principals predict organizational happiness by 10%.
