John Stanley, İngiltere barok dönem bestecilerinden biridir. Küçük yaşta talihsiz bir kaza sonucu görme yetisini kaybeden Stanley, müzik eğitimine küçük yaşta başlamış ve döneminin yetenekli organistlerinden biri olmuştur. Hemen hemen her türde eserler üreten bu yetenekli bestecinin en bilinen besteleri organ için yazmış olduğu volunterilerdir. Volunteri, İngiltere barok dönem bestecileri tarafından bulunmuş, genellikle iki bölümlü yazılan eserlere verilen isimdir. Stanley’in volunterileri, içerisinde kusursuz kontrpuan içeren, melodileriyle kulağa hoş gelen, teknik anlamda barok dönem tekniklerini içeren ve barok stil özelliklerini kusursuzca içeren bir yapıya sahiptir. Ancak yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda John Stanley ve eserleri Türkiye’de tanınmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu araştırma, John Stanley volunterilerinin piyano eğitiminde barok stil tekniklerini kazandırması açısından kullanılabilirliğini incelemek ve piyano eğitimi repertuarına var olan fakat bilinmeyen yeni eserler kazandırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmaya temel olan John Stanley volunterilerinin piyano eğitiminde kullanılması, piyano eğitiminde kullanılan barok dönem repertuarının çeşitlilik kazanmasının ve öğrencilerin farklı stil ve karakterde barok dönem eserlerini çalmasının, öğrencilerin piyano eğitimine bakış açılarının olumlu yönde etki edeceği düşünüldüğünden ve Stanley ve volunterilerinin Türkiye’de hiç incelenmemiş olmasından dolayı besteci ve eserlerini tanıtmak açısından önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Araştırmada Stanley’in tanınma durumları ve eserlerinin piyano eğitimi için uygunluğunu belirlemek için betimsel yöntemler, öğrencilerin bu eserleri yorumlama düzeylerini belirlemek ve eserlere karşı algılarını ölçebilmek için ise deneysel yöntemler kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada üç farklı ölçme aracı kullanılmıştır. Eser değerlendirme formu Stanley’in eserlerindeki teknik ve müzikalite kazanımları değerlendirmek üzere öğretim elemanlarına uygulanmış ve sonuçlar Ki Kare testi ile çözümlenmiştir. Deneysel süreçte öğrencilerin çalma düzeylerini belirlemek için hazırlanan gözlem formları, araştırmacı ve ek gözlemciler tarafından puanlanarak aritmetik ortalamaları alınarak çözümlenmiştir. Son olarak öğrencilerin uygulama öncesi ve sonrasında güçlük düzey algıları ölçülmüş ve Mann Whitney U testi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada, geliştirilen ve etkililiği araştırılan John Stanley volunterilerinin piyano eğitimi sürecinde kullanılabilirliği ve öğretim elemanlarının repertuvarlarında bulundurmalarının gerekliliği sonucuna varılmıştır.
John Stanley is one of the British composers of the Baroque period. Stanley, who lost his ability to see as a result of a unfortunate accident at a young age, began his music training at a young age and became one of the talented organists of his period. The most famous compositions of this talented composer who produces almost all kinds of works are the volunteers written for the organ. Volunteri is a name found by English Baroque period composers, usually given to two-part written works. Stanley's volunteers have a structure that contains perfect counterpoints, sounds nice with their melodies, technically contains Baroque techniques and perfectly contains Baroque style features. However, research has found that John Stanley and his works are not recognized in Turkey. The research was conducted to explore the availability of John Stanley volunteers to acquire Baroque style techniques in the piano training and to acquire new works that exist but are unknown to the piano training repertoire. The use of the research-based John Stanley volunteers in the piano training, the diversity of the Baroque period repertoire used in the piano training and the student's playing Baroque period works in different styles and characters are considered to have a positive impact on the students' views on the piano training and the Stanley and his volunteers are considered to be important in terms of promoting their composers and works because they have never been studied in Turkey. In the study, imaging methods were used to determine Stanley’s recognition conditions and the suitability of his works for piano training, while experimental methods were used to determine the level of interpretation of these works by students and to measure their perceptions of the works. Three different measurement tools were used in the study. The work evaluation form was applied to teachers to evaluate Stanley's technical and musical achievements in his works, and the results were analyzed by Ki Quarter test. The observation forms prepared to determine the levels of students' play in the experimental process were analyzed by taking the arithmetic average by scored by researchers and additional observers. Finally, the students' perceptions of the level of difficulty before and after application were measured and solved by the Mann Whitney U test. The study found the availability of the John Stanley volunteers developed and studied in the piano training process and the need for teachers to hold them in their repertoires.

Furthermore, the research underlying the John Stanley voluntary the piano use them in training, piano training used in the baroque repertoire the diversity of the winning students and different style and character baroque works play, students studying the piano perspectives positive effect will feel and Stanley and voluntary in Turkey ever examined that was not due to introduce the composer and his works are thought to be important. In the study of the piano works of Stanley recognition of the situation and to determine eligibility for training descriptive methods to determine the level of students to interpret these works and works against the perception of the experimental methods are used to measure. In the study, three different measurement tool is used. Stanley's work evaluation form to assess achievements in the technical and musicality applied to the teaching staff and the results were analyzed by Chi-square test. Experimental process allows students to determine their level of play prepared observation forms, and additional observers scored by the researchers were resolved by taking the arithmetic mean. Finally, the levels of difficulty in students’ perceptions before and after treatment were measured and were analyzed by Mann Whitney U test. In the study, developed and researched the effectiveness of John Stanley voluntary availability and in the process of studying the piano repertoire of teaching staff have concluded the necessity.
