Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de 2007-2022 yılları arasında hazırlanan tezlere öz-şefkat kavramının nasıl yansıdığını incelemek ve bu yolla yazına katkı sunabilmektir. Bu incelemede, nitel araştırma yöntem türlerinden birisi olan içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma evrenini, Yükseköğretim Kurulu Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanından yapılan tarama sonucunda elde edilen lisansüstü tezler (yüksek lisans, doktora, tıpta uzmanlık) oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. 2007-2022 yılları arasında Türkiye’de yapılan ve erişime açık (izinli) olan 287 lisansüstü tez üzerinden inceleme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde MAXQDA 2022 nitel yazılım programı kullanılmıştır. Söz konusu tezlerdeki öz-şefkat kavramı 15 ana temaya (tezlerin yılı, türü, üniversite, enstitü ve anabilim dalı dağılımı gibi) ayrılmış ve alt kodlamaları yapılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarında dikkat çeken bulgular arasında, tezlerin en fazla 2021 yılında yazıldığı, yüksek lisans tezlerinin çoğunlukta olduğu sayılabilir. Lisansüstü tezlerin ağırlıklı olarak eğitim bilimleri ve psikoloji alanlarında yazıldığı ve tezlerin çok büyük bir kısmının nicel araştırma yöntemleri ile ele alındığı anlaşılmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntem ve tekniklerinin kullanıldığı tezlerde öğrenciler örnekleminin daha çok tercih edildiği saptanmıştır. Söz konusu kavramın en yoğun olarak psikolojik dayanıklılık, depresyon kavramları ile ilişkilendirildiği belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak; öz-şefkat ile ilgili araştırmaların yıllar geçtikçe artmaya başlamış ve pek çok farklı tema altında incelenmiştir.
This study aims at examining how the concept of self-compassion has been reflecting in the theses completed between 2007-2022 in Türkiye, and how these provide contributions to the literature. In this study, content analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods, has been used. The universe of the research has consisted of graduate theses (master's, doctoral specialization in medicine) obtained as a result of scanning from the database of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education. Purposive sampling method has been used in the research. Analysis has been carried out on 287 graduate theses conducted in Türkiye between 2007 and 2022, which are open to access (with permission). MAXQDA 2022 qualitative software program has been used to analyze the data. The concept of self-compassion mentioned in these theses has been divided into 15 main themes (year, type of theses, distribution of university, institute and department) and their sub themes have been determined. Among the remarkable findings in the results of the analysis, it can be found out that mostly the theses were written in 2021, and the master's theses were in the majority. It has been seen that graduate theses have been mainly written in the fields of educational sciences and psychology, and most of the theses have been conducted using quantitative research methods. It has been determined that the sample of students is preferred more in theses in which quantitative research methods and techniques are used. It has been found out that the concept has been most intensely associated with the concepts of resilience and depression. As a result, research on self-compassion has begun to increase over the years and it has been studied under many different themes.
