Abstract:

Writers and poets are a mirror of society in which they are pleased. Their works and thus their language and patterns give us clues about the period and mentality they live. The language of the artist is also the codes of the world of his feelings and ideas. The artist’s language is pleased with words and word groups: Names, facts, phrases, speech, etc. We look at it all under the name of the word. As vocabulary is a branch of linguistics that studies the existence of the word, it is necessary to tend to the existence of the writers and poets, starting from the methods of vocabulary. Because our artists are both the carrier messengers of our culture and those that remind us of the meaning of our lives. When we study the word existence of a writer or poet, we don’t just reach his art understanding, we throw another step in our world of thought, feeling and knowledge with the new words and concepts we see in it. On the one hand, we are linked to the cultural life of the times when the works were written. Yahya Kemal is an artist who will take us to such heights. We will present our findings about the designation of special names, which are a foot of our thesis that we make the dictionary of his works and the existence of the word we study in this work. These special names, which are around 4,000, are transmitted to Turkish, Eastern and Western cultures in personal, land and work names.
