Abstract:

The social, political, economic and psychological reflections of the Covid-19 pandemic, which began in China and affected the whole world, have become a remarkable reality that has suddenly placed in the middle of our lives. The Covid-19 epidemic, which threatens both the physical and psychological health of individuals, has a risk of death ranging from 0.5% to 3% and has changed our lives shortly after its appearance with unreversible consequences. The unknown cause of the outbreak, the failure to control the virus and the potential risk of all individuals in the world have turned the epidemic into a global trauma. Increasing depression, anxiety, health anxiety, loneliness, social isolation, marking and financial difficulties and changing working and working conditions bring many consequences, such as secondary traumatization for health workers, separation from their families, and the necessity, importance and scope of psychological interventions during and after the epidemic have been clearly revealed. In addition to the epidemological and mental health effects of the infection, individual differences, the psychological effects of risk groups and the steps to be followed in the framework of therapeutic prevention and intervention studies have been evaluated in the light of the findings in the literature.
