Abstract:

The concept of economic growth is one of the main objectives in the country’s economies. Economic activities must also increase to increase the level of development and well-being in economies. The correct assessment of northern resources, the increase in capital in terms of technology, and the rational use of the labour factor, in addition, ensure the continuity of economic growth. But problems such as poverty, injustice in income distribution and unemployment have not been solved. These problems have a negative impact on women’s workforce. In economic growth and development, human factor is an indispensable object. Therefore, women, which make up about half of the population, cannot be mentioned without development in a country without labor. Strengthening women’s current positions is one of the objectives of the economy. The main objective of the study in this context is to provide a general view of women’s labour in Turkey and to study the long-term relationship between women’s employment and economic growth through econometric analysis. It is also to reveal the causal relationship between growth and women’s employment variables. The long-term relationship between women’s employment and economic growth has been found by implementing the ARDL integration test and error correction model. The results of the analysis showed a positive relationship between women’s employment and economic growth in the short term, and in the long term the direction of this relationship is negative. The cause test found that the variables were not due to each other.
