Abstract:

Purpose: This research is aimed at identifying the opinions of students who study home care in the High School of Health Care on their expectations from their professions. Method: The phenomenological (event science) method of quality research has been used. The comments on this subject were written without the names being written in the specified work group. The data collected on the interesting answers were subsequently focused on the 5 (five) home care student who were volunteers. In this interview, the opening, alternative and sonda questions were used. The data was analyzed by two experts. Results: According to data, 33.3 percent of students are 20 years old, 66.6 percent women, and 93.3 percent single. 53.3% of students stay at home, 33.3% at home and 13.3% in apartments. 60 percent said they live in the city, 73.3 percent said their family’s income was equal to their expenses, 40 percent said their expenses were sufficient and 80 percent said they didn’t work in any other job. Before winning the Patient Care program at home, the majority said they got information about the section, they wanted to choose the program, and most of them had positive opinions about the program. It has been seen that students’ expectations from their professions are mostly focused on ‘to put up’, ‘to have a job’ and ‘to help people’. The result: Students have also revealed that they feel job-finding and psycho-social anxiety, anxiety, and emotional situations like struggle, hope, and satisfaction. To address negative situations and encourage positive situations, it is recommended to address the lack of knowledge of students and to provide the necessary educational support as a solution.
