Abstract:

Purpose: Although kinesiobantlama (KT) is frequently used in muscle system disorders, there is no sufficient data about its effectiveness in stroke patients. In several studies in infection patients, the effect of KT on the lower end functions, upper end lymphodema and reflex sympathic dystrophide has been evaluated, but as far as we know, there is no study on the effect on the hand functions. The aim of this study is to evaluate the acute period effect on the manual functions of the KT application in hemiplegic patients. Method: In our study we included 20 patients who suffered ischemic/hemorrhagic injury in the last 1 year. All patients were administered 3 times in a total of 3 days in the pre-colular extension muscle area. The demographic characteristics of all patients (age, gender, education, smoking, diabetes (DM), hypertension (HT), type and duration of cerebrovascular disease, hemiplegic side, dominant hand) were recorded. The severity of the disease was assessed by the National Health Injection Scale (NIHSS) index, the hand functional index before and after the application of hand functions (the end of the 3rd week), the two-stage Minnesota hand skill test (the nine-hole test) and the hand capability by the dynamometer. The study included 13 male and 7 female patients in an average of 61±6 years old. 45% of patients were diagnosed for less than 3 months, 100% had HT and 85% had DM. 90% of these types of ischemic are seen. The left and the right were equal. Patients had significant differences in hands-on capability (p=0,001), manual functional index (p=0,00) and nine-hole test periods (p=0,001) before treatment and after 3 weeks of KT application. The result: the application of KT has a positive effect on the hand functions in the acute period in the rehabilitation of the injection.
