Ventilatör ilişkili pnömoni (VİP), entübasyon öncesinde pnömonisi olmayan hastada entübasyon ve mekanik ventilasyonu takiben 48 ile 72 saatten daha uzun bir süre içinde gelişen pnömoni olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Yapılan araştırmalar ventilatör ilişkili pnömoni oranlarının yoğun bakımlarda hala yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Yoğun bakımlarda ventilatöre bağlı hastalarda görülebilecek komplikasyonları azaltmak, hasta bakımında istenilen sonuçlara ulaşmak ve her zaman aynı yol izlenerek uygulanması gereken işlemlere uyumu artırmak hedefiyle ventilatör bakım paketi oluşturulmuştur. Ventilatör bakım paketi yatak başı elevasyonu (30-45 derece), peptik ülser profilaksisi, derin ven trombozu profilaksisi, klorheksidinli ağız bakımı, günlük sedasyon tatili ve ekstübasyonun değerlendirilmesini içermektedir. Ventilatör bakım paketinin düzenli ve dikkatli bir şekilde kullanılmasının hasta sonuçlarına olumlu yönde etkisi olduğu bilinmektedir.
Ventilator-related pneumonia (VIP) is defined as pneumonia that develops in a period of more than 48 to 72 hours after entubation and mechanical ventilation in patients without pneumonia before entubation. Research has shown that the rate of pneumonia associated with the ventilator is still high in intensive care. In intensive care, a ventilator care package has been created with the aim of reducing the complications that may be seen in patients associated with the ventilator, achieving the desired results in patient care and increasing compliance with the processes that should always be implemented by the same path. The ventilator care package includes bed height (30-45 degrees), peptic ulcer prevention, profound venous thrombosis prevention, chlorhexidine oral care, daily sedation vacation and extubation assessment. It is known that the regular and careful use of the ventilator care package has a positive effect on the patient’s results.
Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is defined as pneumonia developed within 48 to 72 hours following intubation and mechanical ventilation in a patient without pneumonia before intubation. Research shows that ventilator-associated pneumonia rates are still high in intensive care units. Ventilator care bundle has been created in order to reducing the complications of patients depend on ventilation in intensive care units, achieve the desired results in patient care and increase compliance with the procedures that should always be applied in the same way. Ventilator care bundle includes 35-45º head of bed elevation, daily sedative interruption and daily assessment of readiness to extubate, peptic ulcer prophylaxis, deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis and daily oral care with chlorhexidine. It is known that regular and careful use of the ventilator care package has a positive effect on patient outcomes.
