Abstract:

The concept of social media is used more actively in different areas. Today, it has been observed that online processes for sharing information, thoughts, perspectives, news, and content provide different expansions both on a personal basis and for businesses. The widespread use of social media has enabled communication skills to become more qualified and to step into a large-scale world. In the study, the reasons of social media usage and the effects of communication skills on social media were evaluated. Quantitative analysis techniques were used on how social media has a position among other communication channels and how effective it is on users' communication skills. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the reasons for using social media increased communication skills in general.
