Türk Edebiyatının birçok önemli ismi çeşitli nedenlerle Suriye ve Filistin’de bulunmuş, buralara dair intibâlarını kaleme almıştır. Ahmet Rasim de bunlardan biridir. Ahmet Rasim, Suriye ve Filistin topraklarına üç kez seyahat etmiştir. Bunların ilki Alman İmparatoru II. Wilhelm’in 1898 yılında Suriye ve Kudüs’ü ziyareti sırasındadır. İkincisi 1904’te Şam-Maan demiryolu hattının açılışını takip etmesi için bölgeye gönderildiği dönemdedir. Üçüncüsü ise Kanal Seferi’nin yapıldığı 1914 yılındadır. Ahmet Rasim bu seyahatlerindeki intibâlarını Servet, Tasfir-i Efkâr, İkdâm, Sabah, Resimli Perşembe, Donanma Mecmuası gibi gazete ve dergilerde, Muharrir Bu Ya ve Menâkıb-ı İslam adlı kitaplarında yayınlamıştır. Bu makalede yazarın Suriye ve Filistin’e dair yukarıda ismini zikrettiğimiz gazete, dergi ve kitaplarda kaleme aldığı hatıralarından, mektuplarından hareketle; bölgeye, Cemal Paşa’ya, İttihâd-ı İslam fikrine, Araplara ve orduya dair düşüncelerine yer verilecektir. Ahmet Rasim, olayların cereyan ettiği dönemden çok sonra da bu hatıralarına zeyl mahiyetinde yazılar yazmış ve bu yazılarında bir anlamda gerçek duygularını ifade etmiştir. Elinizdeki çalışmada yazarın hatıralarındaki farklılıklar ve bunun sebepleri de ele alınacaktır.
Many of the important names of Turkish literature have been found in Syria and Palestine for various reasons, and they have taken their insights about these places. Ahmet Rasim is one of them. Ahmad Rashim has traveled to Syria and Palestine three times. The first German Emperor II. Wilhelm visited Syria and Jerusalem in 1898. The second is in the period in 1904 when it was sent to the region to follow the opening of the Dam-Maan railway line. The third is in 1914 when the Channel Seferi was held. He has published his intimacies in these trips in the newspapers and magazines such as Wealth, Tasfir-i Efkâr, Ikdâm, Sabah, Picimli Thursday, Navy Mecmuası, Muharrir This Ya and Menâkıb-i Islam. In this article, the writer will include his memories and letters from the newspapers, magazines and books on which we mentioned his name about Syria and Palestine, and his thoughts about the region, Jamal Pasha, the Idea of Islam, the Arabs and the Army. Ahmet Rasim, long after the time the events occurred, wrote in Zeyl Mahita to these memories and expressed his true feelings in some sense in these writings. In your work you will discuss the differences in the writer's memories and the reasons for it.
