This study is a scan of literature on Balkan nationalism and its influences. In the late 18th century, nationalism, which began to gain new meaning in the Balkans, was seen as a political doctrine and began to spread as a modernization-based concept. Of course, the most negatively affected by this current of thought were multinational states. In the process that began with the demand for rights and freedoms and ended with the rebellion, the Ottoman have lost all the Balkans with the influence of the European states that have been hurt and supported by minorities. As the main cause of these rebellions, religion and language were seen, and therefore the Ottoman first wanted to move from the scope of religious unity. But the rebellion of the Arabs and Albanians pushed the Ottoman to Turkish nationalism and adopted this ideology, the Ottoman State found its end. In this context, a new nation and a new understanding emerged.
