Purpose: This study was carried out as a identifying purpose to determine the attitudes of nurses working in a university hospital towards evidence-based nursing. Material and Method: The sample of the study was made by 222 nurses who worked in a university hospital between January and March 2018 and who agreed to participate in the research. The data is collected using the Personal Information Form and the Proof-Based Nursing Attitude Scale (KDHYTÖ). In the evaluation of the data, the calculation of frequency and percentage for identifying statistics, the t test in independent groups and the one-way variance analysis for normal distribution data, and the Mann Whitney U test and the Kruskal Wallis test for non-normal distribution data were used. Results: The study found that the average age of nurses was 27.46 ± 6.83, 81.1% were women and 51.8% were graduates. 78.4 percent of nurses found that they had never read a scientific magazine before, 85.6 percent had participated in a scientific meeting just once before, and 78.4 percent of nurses who had participated in the scientific meeting before were listening. The KDHYTÖ score of the nurses who participated in the study was defined as 60.68±8.62 (25-75) It has been found that nurses have a meaningful relationship between loving their profession, announcing and participating in scientific meetings, tracking professional publications and conducting research and their attitudes towards evidence-based nursing (p<0,05). The result: according to these findings, the nurses can say that their attitudes towards evidence-based nursing are positive. The encouragement of nurses to participate in scientific meetings, to be able to track professional research results and to be encouraged to do research is believed to be effective in developing a positive attitude towards evidence-based nursing. It can also be recommended that nurses plan in-service training programs that will increase their awareness of evidence-based nursing practices.

The mean for scale score of the nurses was 60,68 ± 8,62 (25-75).A significiant relationship was found between of nurses loving their profession, attending scientific meetings with presentations, following professional publications, making researches and attitudes towards evidence based nursing (p<0,05). Conclusions: It is thought that supporting nurses' participation in scientific meetings, being able to follow the results of professional research and encouraging them to conduct research will be effective in developing positive attitudes towards evidence-based nursing. It may also be suggested to plan in-service training programs that will increase the awareness of nurses about evidence-based nursing practices.
