Abstract:

The aim is to identify young people who prefer the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Ege and are a first-class student, the preferred resources of the profession, the institutions of secondary education in which they graduate, the areas in which they live and the first impressions of the students about the faculty. Methods: In the 2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 educational and educational years, 332 students registered in the 1st class were surveyed. The survey included questions about the school that students have recently studied, where their families live, occupational preference resources and their first impressions about the faculty. The data was evaluated using the test. BULGULAR: The students who won the faculty were mainly graduates of the Anadolu High School (53.0%) The faculty is preferred from every region of Turkey. Students have found that the resources they most use when making preferences are the dentists they know (59.9 percent). The first impressions of students about the faculty were generally positive (56.3%). The result: It has been shown that it is important that students in the preferred stage of dentistry are aware and willing, as well as that they get information from the right sources about the profession and the educational process. A large and rooted university such as the University of Ege has been shown to be insufficient in promotional activities.
