Abstract:

Purpose: Gastrointestinal metaplasy is an epithelial change that can be seen in patients with stone. In this presentation of the phenomenon, the importance of gastric metaplastic lesions was discussed. In this case, a 34-year-old woman with a pain in the upper right side of the stomach, which appeared especially after fat meals, was discussed and literary assessment was made. In the western ultrasound of the adulthood, multiple calculations were detected, which were measured as 1 cm of the largest in the gallbladder. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was applied in elective conditions. As a result of the pathological examination, gastrointestinal metaplasy was detected in the joint cartilage. The result: it is that the metabolism-displasia cycle of the gallbladder may be the beginning of the gallbladder cancer. Therefore, we believe that gastrointestinal metaplastic lesions should be studied more carefully histopathologically.
