Okul Öncesi Dönemde Ebeveyn Tutumları ile Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığı Eğilimi Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract:

Çocukluğun vazgeçilmez bir unsuru olan oyun, gelişen ve değişen zamana paralel olarak bazı dönüşümler yaşamaktadır. Özellikle dijitalleşme sürecinin hız kazanmasıyla beraber çocukların oyun oynama şeklinin ve oyun tercihlerinin de farklılaştığı görülmektedir. Bu değişim ve dönüşüm sürecinde, özellikle erken çocukluk yıllarında, ebeveynlerin etkisi büyük rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, çocuğu okul öncesi eğitime devam eden ebeveynlerin tutumları ile çocuklarının dijital oyun bağımlılığı eğilimine yönelik görüşleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma için, Dicle Üniversitesi Sosyal ve Beşeri Bilimler Etik Kurulu Başkanlığından 28.09.2021 tarih ve 145353 sayılı Olur’u ile Etik Kurul Onayı alınmıştır. Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modelinde tasarlanmış nicel bir çalışmadır. Olasılıklı olmayan örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen, 4-6 yaş arası çocuğu olan 423 ebeveyn çalışmaya dahil olmuştur. Katılımcılara, çalışma hakkında detaylı bilgiler verilerek gönüllü katılım onayı alındıktan sonra 20-30 dakika süren görüşmeler aracılığıyla veriler toplanmıştır. Veriler “Demografik Bilgi Formu”, “Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği” ve “Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığı Eğilimi Ölçeği” aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; ebeveynlerin demokratik tutuma sahip olma düzeyi arttıkça dijital oyun bağımlılığı eğiliminin azaldığı, anne-baba yaşı, öğrenim düzeyi, çocuk sayısı, çalışma durumu ve gelir düzeyinin ebeveyn tutumları üzerinde etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrenim düzeyi ve gelir düzeyinin dijital oyun bağımlılığı üzerinde etkili birer değişken olduğu saptanmıştır.

The game, which is an indispensable element of childhood, experiences some transformations parallel to the evolving and changing time. Especially with the speed of the process of digitalization, the way the children play and the game preferences are also different. In this process of change and transformation, especially in early childhood years, the influence of parents plays a major role. This study aims to explore the relationship between the attitudes of parents who continue to pre-school education and their children’s views on the tendency of digital gaming addiction. For the research, the Ethics Council approved by the President of the Council of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Dicle on 28.09.2021 date and number 145353. Research is a quantitative study designed in the relative scanning model. 423 parents, children between the ages of 4-6 years, who were selected by measurement sampling methods from unlikely sampling methods, were involved in the study. The participants were given detailed information about the work and the data were collected through interviews that lasted 20-30 minutes after the voluntary participation was approved. The data was collected through the "Demographic Information Form", "Parental Attitude Scale" and "Digital Game Addiction Trend Scale". The data received was analyzed with the SPSS package program. As a result, the rate of democratic attitude of parents increases, the tendency to decrease digital gambling addiction, the age of parents, the level of education, the number of children, the working status and the income level have an impact on the attitude of parents. It has also been found that the level of learning and income levels are an influential variable on digital game dependency.

In this process of change and transformation, especially in the early childhood years, the influence of parents plays a major role. In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the attitudes of parents whose children continue to pre-school education and their views on their children’s digital game addiction tendency. Ethics Committee Approval was obtained for the research with the consent of the Dicle University Social and Human Sciences Ethics Committee dated 28.09.2021 and numbered 145353.The research is a quantitative study designed in the relational survey model. 423 parents with children aged 4-6 years, selected by criterion sampling method, one of the nonprobability sampling methods, were included in the study. The participants were given detailed information about the study and the data were collected through interviews that lasted 20-30 minutes after obtaining consent for voluntary participation. Data were collected through the "Demographic Information Form", "Parental Attitude Scale" and "Digital Gaming Addiction Tendency Scale". The obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS package program. As a result; It was determined that as the level of parents' having a democratic attitude increased, the tendency for digital game addiction decreased, and the age of the parents, education level, number of children, working status and income level were effective on parental attitudes. In addition, it has been determined that education level and income level are effective variables on digital game addiction.
