When we look at the developments in the production process in the world, with economic growth, there is also an increase in the country’s energy demand. The need for energy is entirely filled with fossil fuels, which causes damage to the environment. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, India, Turkey and China on economic growth in the light of data covering the years 2000-2014. The data used in the study was obtained from the World Bank’s Development Indicators database. With the help of the data made by logarithmic conversion, the panel data analysis was used to detect horizontal cutting dependency in the series and the analysis was continued with the second generation unit root tests. Also, it is tested whether the data is stable and the series is stable. In the subsequent stage, the Westerlund (2007) panel matching test was applied to determine whether there is a matching relationship between the variables. The results of the analysis have found that the economic growth (GDP) and the CO2 emissions per person and the energy consumption variables per person are equalized. Due to the equalization between the variables, the long-term relationship was also studied and the conclusion was that there was a long-term negative relationship between GDP and energy consumption per person and CO2 emissions. In other words, an unity increase in energy consumption per person will lead to a decrease of -12.2969 in GDP. Similarly, an unitary increase in carbon emissions will result in a decline of -6.5652 in GDP.
