Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the radiographic technical quality of root channel filling and the frequency of iatrogenic errors in canal treatments by endodontists and dentists.  Tools and Methods: 1135 root channels treated by endodontists and dentists were included in the X-ray recording of the teeth. Radiographers were evaluated by two experts, so that the length of root channel fillings, radioopathy and the presence of iatrogenic errors will be. Statistical analysis was conducted using ki-core test.  Results:According to itrogenic errors; the presence of instrument breakdowns in endodontists and similarly, the mandibula was significantly higher in the meshiobucal channels of the teeth (p<0.05). With regard to the quality of channel filling, it was found that the filling is worse than the endodontists in the group of dentists (p<0.05). There were no significant differences between the groups in other iatrogenic errors (p>0.05).  Results:According to the results of this retrospective study, the root channel treatment applied by endodontists shows that the root channel filling quality is better than the dentist.
