Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the value of the various scoring systems used in the evaluation of critical patients applying for emergency services (AS) for the geriatric patient population. Patients aged 65 and over who apply to the University of Uludağ Medical Faculty Hospital AS, included in the study, for all patients the HOTEL, ViEWS, ViEWS-L, MEWS, RAPS, REMS scores were recorded by calculating. The study included 350 men (56.8%) and 266 women (43.2%) with a total of 616 patients. In comparisons based on the results of the patients; in the first 24 hours, all scores in terms of mortality were determined meaningfully. In their double comparisons; all the scores in terms of investment-excitation, VIEWS-L and RAPS scores in terms of investment-excitation, and all the scores in terms of excitation, except the HOTEL scores, were statistically meaningful. To determine the risk factors affecting the 24-hour mortality, HOTEL, ViEWS-L, ViEWS, RAPS, REMS and MEWS scores were made meaningful in the latest model obtained when the step-by-step logistics regression analysis was carried out by taking independent variables, VIEWS, VIEWS-L and RAPS variables were found meaningful. This study found that in the assessment of geriatric patients who apply to ASe and in the determination of the risk of mortality, the use of scanning systems used in critical patients was effective.
