Summary: The aim of this study is to study the theory and model-based research in the field of women’s health care in the world and in Turkey in terms of quality and quantity. Thus, it is believed that the use of theory and model in research will increase and will contribute to nursing science. Tools and Methods: In the study of the identifying type, the National Thesis Center of the Institute of Higher Education (YOK) and EBSCOhost, Pubmed, scaned the databases to the work done by nurses using the theory/model. It was not limited to the year when scanning was done. As a key word, the Turkish word is used; "inheritance, model, theory, theory, women's health", in English; "theory, model, nursing, women's health". The reviewed studies have been evaluated in terms of the subject/problem addressed, target population, the theory/model used and the theory/model used in research. As a result of the study, 25 research articles in which theory and models are used in the world, and 15 in Turkey, 22, including postgraduate thesis studies, have reached a total of 47 studies. The findings and results: The theory used in the studies is the theory of the Care of Orem (n=19). In the world, the Rogers/United Human Theory (n=4) and the Roy Adaptation Model (n=3) were used after the Orem/Care Theory, and in Turkey the second place was the Roy Adaptation Model. There has been no study in the field of Women’s Health Nursing in our country and has been done using Henderson/Basic Life Requirements, Peplau/Interpersonal Relations, Rogers/United Human Theory and Leininger/Transcultural Nursing Theory/Models. The study found that the number of studies using theory/model in the field of women’s health care in the world and in our country is similarly small. On the other hand, as in all other disciplines, the importance of conducting theory-based research is highlighted in the enhancement of professional knowledge in nursing as well. Abstract: Objective: In this study, it is aimed at investigating women’s health nursing researches based on the use of the theory and model in Turkey and the World. Thus, it is thought that the use of theories and models in research will increase and contribute to nursing science. Methods: In the descriptive study, National Institute of Higher Education (YOK) National Thesis Center database and EBSCOhost, Pubmed databases were searched to reach the theory and model based studies carried out by the nurses. The year was not limited when the survey was conducted and the keywords "Nurse, model, theory, theory, women's health" were used. The researches were evaluated in terms of subject, scope, target population and way of model/theory use in research. As a result of the review, 47 research articles were evaluated where 25 research articles were out of Turkey and 22 (15 of them were postgraduate thesis studies) from Turkey. Results: Orem's self-care theory is the most used theory in studies (n = 19). In the world, Rogers/Unitary Human Beings Theory (n=4) and Roy Adaptation Model (n=3) were the most frequently used theories after the Orem/Self Care Theory and the second frequent theory in Turkey is the Roy Adaptation Model. No studies have been conducted in the field of Women's Health Nursing in our country using Henderson/Needs Theory, Peplau/Interpersonal Theory, Rogers/Unitary Human Beings Theory and Leininger/Transcultural Nursing Theory. Conclusion: It has been determined that the number of researches using the theory/model in the field of women’s health nursing in the world and in our country is similar. On the other hand, likewise in all other disciplines, it is emphasized that the research based on theories/models are important in increasing the profession specific knowledge in nursing.
