Özet:

Purpose: To improve the scale of Care Participation Assessment to evaluate the participation of the babies in the newborn intensive care unit and to study its validity and reliability. Method: The research is conducted methodologically. Between July 2013 and June 2015, the study included 340 mothers who had the baby in the newborn intensive care units of the Pamukkale University Hospital's Children's Surgery and Denizli State Hospital. The research data was collected with the question form and the scale of the assessment of the maternity and child's data. Results: Observation Participation Assessment Scale comparison of the group average of 27% below and above for the reduction of the substance distinctive power has been shown that four substances are not processed and the scale's final state is made up of 19 substances. The Kuder-Richardson internal consistency ratio of the measurement is calculated as 0.76 and the equivalent ratio for the two-half test is r = 0.61 (p = 0,000). Again, to test the scale's reliability, the matters and the nurses observed matters' care participation practices have been examined in line with each other and Kendall's consistency ratio is 0.79 (p = 0.001). The expert opinion and the validity of compliance (Pearson Correlation: 0.88; p = 0.000) studies have shown that the scale is valid. ABSTRACT The Participation in Caregiving Assessment Scale for the Mothers Had Babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Development, Validity and Reliability of Scale Aim: To evaluate the validity and reliability of the Participation in Caregiving Assessment Scale developed to evaluate the involvement to infants care of mothers had infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. Method: The study was carried out as methodological. The study was made with 340 mothers had babies in the newborn intensive care units of Pamukkale University Hospital Paediatric Surgery and Denizli State Hospital, between July 2013 and June 2015. Studies of expert opinion and concordance validity (Pearson Correlation: 0.88; p = 0. 000) showed that this scale is valid. Conclusion: This study showed that the results of the validity and reliability analysis of the Participation in Caregiving Assessment Scale were adequate and could be used in the assessment the participation in caregiving status of the mothers had babies in the newborn intensive care unit.
