Abstract:

Nükleer radyasyonun enerji ölçümlerinde spektrometrenin karakteristiklerini belirlemek son derece önemlidir.  Gelen gama ışınlarının enerjisine bağlı olarak, detektörden elde edilen pulslar, puls yüksekliği analizi (Puls Height Analysis-PHA) metoduyla çok kanallı analizörde (Multi Channel Analyzer-MCA) gama spektrumları olarak gözlenir. MCA’de kanal başına düşen gama enerjilerini belirlemek için detektörün enerji kalibrasyonunu ve birbirine yakın enerjili gama-ışınlarını ayırt etme yeteneği olan enerji çözünürlüğünü bilmek gereklidir. Bu çalışmada, 137Cs, 60Co, 22Na ve 133Ba standart gama ışını kaynaklarının puls yüksekliği spektrumları ölçülerek gama ışınları için yüksek verime sahip olan NaI(Tl) detektörünün enerji kalibrasyonu ve enerji çözünürlüğü elde edilmiştir.

In the energy measurement of nuclear radiation, determining the characteristics of the spectrometer is extremely important.  Depending on the energy of the coming gamma rays, the pulses obtained from the detector are observed as gamma spectra in the multi-channel analyzer (MCA) by the pulse height analysis (PHA) method. In MCA, it is necessary to know the energy calibration of the detector and the energy resolution, which is the ability to distinguish the energy gamma rays close to each other, to determine the gamma energies falling per channel. In this study, the energy calibration and energy resolution of the NaI(Tl) detector, which has high performance for gamma rays, was achieved by measuring the pulse height spectrum of the 137Cs, 60Co, 22Na and 133Ba standard gamma radiation sources.
