Çalışmamızın amacını kestane yetiştiriciliğinde yaşanan olumsuzlukları üretici bazında tespit ederek bunların üzerinde çözüm arayışına gitmek oluşturmuştur. Bu sebeple yetiştiriciliğin yoğun olarak yapıldığı kestane üreticilerine yönelik yapılan bu durum tespiti, 2021 yılında Aydın’ın Efeler, Köşk, Sultanhisar, Nazilli ve İzmir’ in Beydağ, Ödemiş ve Kiraz ilçelerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplam 57 üreticiyle görüşülmüş ve üreticilere kestane çeşitleri, hastalık-zararlı, Kestane gal arısı (Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu), kestanede zirai ilaç kullanımı, kestaneyi gömüde bırakma süreleri ve yetiştiricilikte karşılaştıkları sorunları kapsayan 23 adet soru yöneltilmiş ve elde edilen veriler değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, üreticilerin eğitim seviyesinin düşük olduğu, pek çoğunun atadan kestane üreticisi olduğu ve kestane üretimi konusunda bilinçli olmadıkları görülmüştür. Yanı sıra bilinçsiz olarak yetiştiricilik yapılmakta olduğu, kestanenin kendileri için iyi bir gelir kaynağı olduğu fakat bir kısım yetiştiricinin sadece hasat sırasında bahçeye uğradıkları gibi durumlar gözlemlenmiştir.
The aim of our study was to identify the negativities experienced in chestnut cultivation on the basis of producers and to seek solutions on them. For this reason, this due diligence for chestnut producers in Aydın and İzmir provinces, where cultivation is intense, was carried out in Efeler, Köşk, Sultanhisar, Nazilli, and İzmir's Beydağ, Ödemiş and Kiraz districts, where chestnut cultivation is intense in Aydın and İzmir provinces in 2021. A total of 57 producers were interviewed and 23 questions were asked to the producers, including chestnut varieties, disease-pest, Chestnut gall wasp (Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu), pesticide use in chestnuts, the time of leaving chestnuts in the burial, and the problems they encountered in aquaculture, and the data obtained were evaluated. As a result of the research, it was seen that the education level of the producers was low, most of them were chestnut producers from the ancestors and they were not conscious about chestnut production. In addition, it has been observed that there is an unconscious cultivation, chestnuts are a very good source of income for them, but some growers only visit the garden during the harvest.
