In this study, it has discussed the reflections of national concerns which go back to history education of last decade to the 19.th century in Turkish historiography. In this process change / transition in history textbooks were handled. At the beginning of the decade it was referred to the following issues being national and scientificity in historiography. The reflections of romantically formed Turkish nationalism to history education were also criticized. After the 2nd World War it was accepted that romantic nationalism reform studies on history text books. Instead of the perception of romantic nationality history which led to conflictions, possibilities of peaceful perception of history education were discussed by realistic national history conception. The last twenty years adventure of peaceful history studies run with the coordination of UNESCO was evaluated on literature and text books. With this aim high school history education programs and history text books of 1993 and 2006 were closely examined. In the process of examination document and speech analysis techniques were used. Finally there have been serious progressive enhancements in history textbooks on behalf of peaceful history in Turkey.
