The new coronavirus infection (SARS-CoV-2 infection), which occurred in the Wuhan region of China at the end of 2019, rapidly spread. A few months later, it was recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an epidemic and became a major threat to public health. The death rate in cases occurring in China was around 2%. Although pregnancy was not considered a risk factor during COVID-19 disease, the cases were usually in the third trimester. It is remarkable that the effects of these infectious cases in the late pregnancy and newborn are quite good. Further studies are needed to study more cases in the first and second trimesters to determine long-term results and to clarify the risk of vertical transition.
