Nizamiye Medreseleri, döneminde “yüksek öğrenim” kurumları olarak değerlendirilen ve tarihe oldukça kalıcı şekilde iz bırakan Türk İslam eğitim kurumlarıdır. Medrese geleneğinin başlangıcı bilinmemekle birlikte, Nizamülmülk’ün öncülüğünde kurulan medreseler, salt eğitim kurumları olmamıştır. Bu kurumlar aynı zamanda, devletin resmi politikasının yaygınlaştırılması ve meşrulaştırılmasında aracı olarak görev yapmışlardır. Selçuklular, İslam coğrafyasında önemli bir aktör olarak, Şiî-Sünni mücadelenin Sünni kanadında yer almış ve bölgesinin siyasetinde belirleyici olmuştur. Selçuklular, askerî zaferlerle elde ettikleri gücü, eğitim alanındaki faaliyetleriyle perçinlemişlerdir. Selçuklu Veziri Nizamülmülk’ün kişiliği ile neredeyse bütünleşmiş olan bu medreselerde, sadece dinî eğitimler verilmemiştir. Bu medreseler, o günün siyasî hayatına hâkim olan görüşlerin kurumsal düzeyde üretildiği kurumlardır. Bu nedenle eğitim tarihinin önemli kurumlarından olan Nizamiye Medreseleri’nin etkileri, sadece eğitim alanıyla sınırlı kalmamış toplumsal yaşamın birçok noktasında iz bırakmıştır. Özellikle Sünni dünyada Eş’ariliğin yaygınlaşmasında etkili olan bu medreseler rasyonalizmi öneren Mu’tezile ekolünün saf dışı kalmasına neden olmuş ve bu durum Türk-İslam bölgelerinde, aklı ikinci plana alan bir anlayışın gelişmesine vesile olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Nizamiye Medreseleri’nin mezhep ve mezhep içi mücadelelerdeki yerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca ulaşmak için araştırma yöntemi olarak literatür taraması yapılmış ve konunun kapsamı, Nizamiye Medreseleri’nin kurulmadan önceki ve medreseler kurulduktan sonraki mezhep politikalarının ele alınması olarak belirlenmiştir.
They are Turkish-Islamic educational institutions that were considered as “higher education” institutions during the Nizamiye Madrasahs and left a very permanent mark on history. Although the beginning of the madrasa tradition is unknown, the madrasas established under the leadership of Nizamülmülk were not only educational institutions. These institutions also fulfilled the role of intermediary in the dissemination and legitimation of the official policy of the state. As an important actor in the Islamic geography, the Seljuks took part in the Sunni wing of the Shiite-Sunni struggle and became a determinant in the politics of the region. Along with obtaining this power through military victories, it also achieved this victory with its activities in the field of education. In these madrasas, which were almost integrated with the personality of the Seljuk Vizier Nizamülmülk, not only religious education was given. These madrasas are institutions where the views that dominate the political life of that day are also considered at the institutional level. For this reason, the effects of Nizamiye Madrasahs, one of the important institutions in the history of education, were not only limited to the field of education, but also left their mark on many points of social life. These madrasas, which were especially effective in the spread of Ash'arism in the Sunni world; This led to the elimination of the Mu'tazila school, which suggested rationalism, and perhaps this situation led to the development of an understanding that prioritized revelation and put reason in the background in Turkish-Islamic regions. In this study, it is aimed to determine the place of Nizamiye Madrasahs in sectarian and intra-sectarian struggles. In order to achieve this aim, a literature review was made as a research method and the scope of the subject was determined as the sectarian policies of the Seljuks in the period before the establishment of the Nizamiye Madrasahs and the sectarian policies after the establishment of the madrasahs.
