Abstract:

The policies of the Russian Tsarist towards Tatars and Turkestan were decisive in shaping the political thoughts of Mirsaid Sultan Galiev. During his youth, Galiev met the enlightened and innovative Jadidism, which was started by Muslim-Turkish thinkers and politicians under the rule of the Russian Tsarist, and took part in the youth organization of this movement. Galiev revealed his struggle against the Tsarist rule in terms of religion and nation, and sometimes in the axis of class struggle. He fought with the Bolsheviks against the White Army, defending Lenin's thesis of independent nations. After the Russian revolution, he was assigned important duties in the Soviet Union. He was dismissed from his duties in the state after Josef Stalin took over the leadership. Galiev was influenced by Marxism and built his political thought on this ideology. With the developments after the Russian revolution, he developed the idea of the Pan-Turkism Socialist State against Russian imperialism and Slavic nationalism. Described as the "father of the third world" by some thinkers, Galiev shaped his system proposal by discussing the concepts of Pan-Turkism, Islamism and Socialism in his theory. The aim of this study is to examine the developments in which Mirsaid Sultan Galiev's world of ideas was shaped and to open the Pan-Turkism Socialist State project to discussion. For this purpose, the articles written by the thinker in the newspapers and the ideas he defended in the congresses were examined by using the text analysis method.
