Abstract:

The subject of reduplications in Turkish has been one of the topics that have attracted attention since the beginning of Turkish linguistics and has been studied extensively. In the literature, there are usually period or work-centered reduplication studies. The corpus of the subject to be discussed in this study covers several alphabet-based periods. These works, which are called Islamic period with Uyghur script texts, constitute the corpus of this study. From the Karakhanid period until the end of the Timurid period, a corpus was created based on 18 works by selecting Deh-nâme, Ebu Said Kürkânʼın Uzun Hasanʼa Gönderdiği Bitig, Mahzenüʼl-Esrârʼın Zeynüʼl-Âbidin Nüshası, Manzum Parçalar, Manzum Parçalar –I, Manzum Parçalar –II, Mesʼele Kitâbı, Miraç-nâme, Oğuz Kağan Destanı, Râhatüʼl-Kulûb, Rızvan Şah ile Ruh-Afza Hikâyesi, Seyfü’l-Mülûk ve Bedî‘ü’l-Cemâl, Sirâcüʼl-Kulûb, Tarla Satış Senetleri, Tezkire-i Evliyâ, Timür Kutluk Yarlığı, Tokluğ Temürʼe Verilen Ödüg Bidigʼi, Toktamış Han Yarlığı texts in Uyghur script. In the corpus of the study, 1309 sentences with a reduplication were identified. Some of these sentences contain more than one reduplication, and the total number of reduplication in the corpus reaches 1537, including the repeating ones, and the number of reduplications, each of which is different, reaches 457. All data are listed alphabetically in the Appendix. The 457 reduplication data were analyzed in terms of organization, formation, meaning, structure, inflection, sequence, origin and type, and the results related to them were tried to be interpreted in 31 notes.
