20. yüzyılın en önemli bestecilerinden biri olan Maurice Ravel, izlenimci müziğin önde gelen isimlerinden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Besteci yaklaşık kırk yıl süren müzik yaşamı boyunca çeşitli orkestra eserleri, operalar, piyano konçertoları, oda müziği eserleri ve şarkılar bestelemiştir. Orkestra yapıtları içerisinde en bilinen eserlerden biri olan Bolero, bestecinin kendi ifadesi ile müziksiz bir orkestra dokusu olarak nitelendirilmiş ve ilk seslendirildiğinde çok beğenilmesi Ravel’i bile hayrete düşürmüştür. Eserde yer alan trombon solosu ulusal ve uluslararası orkestra sınavlarında karşılaşılan son derece önemli orkestra sololarından biri olma niteliği taşımaktadır. Solonun doğru bir biçimde yorumlanabilmesi için icracının teknik ve müzikal bilgi düzeyinin gelişmiş olması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, soloda yer alan birtakım teknik ve müzikal zorlukların çözümüne yönelik Türkçe literatüre katkıda bulunmak ve trombon icracılarına, Ravel’in hayatı ve Bolero adlı eserinin müzikal yapısı hakkında genel bir bilgi verilmesiyle solonun icrasına yönelik farklı bir bakış açısı kazandırmaktır. Bu araştırma, Maurice Ravel’in Bolero adlı eseri hakkında literatür taraması yapılan nitel bir araştırmadır.
Maurice Ravel, one of the most important composers of the 20th century, is considered one of the leading figures of impressionist music. The composer composed various orchestral works, operas, piano concertos, chamber music and songs, during his musical life, which lasted for about forty years. Bolero, one of the bestknown works among orchestral works, was described as an orchestral texture without music, by the composer's expression, and even Ravel was puzzled when it was first performed. The trombone solo in the piece is one of the most important trombone solos encountered in national and international orchestral auditions. For the solo to be interpreted correctly by the performers, it is necessary to have developed technical and musical knowledge. The aim of this study is to contribute to the Turkish literature for the solution of some technical and musical difficulties in the solo and, give the performers a different perspective on the performance of the solo by giving general information about Ravel's life and the musical structure of his work Bolero. This research is a qualitative research that has been conducted as a literature review on Maurice Ravel's Bolero.
