Bu çalışmanın amacı Borsa İstanbul (BIST) Metal Eşya, Makine ve Gereç Yapım alt sektöründe faaliyet gösteren firmaların performanslarına, yatırım faaliyetlerinden kaynaklanan nakit akışlarının bir etkisinin olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Bu amaçla 2008-2018 dönemindeki yıllık veriler kullanılarak yapılan araştırmada, firma performansının temsili için üç model oluşturulmuş ve oluşturulan modeller panel veri analizi yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarında göre ilgili dönemde yatırım faaliyetlerinden kaynaklanan nakit akışlarının, firma performansına etkisi “Varlıkların Kârlılığı” modelinde pozitif, “Varlıklardaki Büyüme” modelinde negatif ve “Hasılattaki Büyüme” modelinde ise anlamsız olarak tespit edilmiş olsa da analiz sonuçları genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde anlamlı bir etkinin bulunmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar da ilgili dönemde firmaların, yatırım faaliyetlerinden kaynaklanan nakit akışlarının, firma performansları üzerinde direkt bir ilişkisinin bulunmadığını ortaya koymuştur.
The aim of this study is to identify whether the cash flows resulting from investment activities have an impact on the performance of companies operating in the Metal Goods, Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing sub-sector. For this purpose; in the research conducted using annual data in the period 2008-2018, three models created and created for the representation of company performance were analyzed using the panel data analysis method. According to the results of the analysis, the effect of cash flows resulting from investment activities in the relevant period on the performance of the company is positive in the model "Rentability of Assets", negative in the model "Rentability in Assets" and in the model "Rentability in Assets" has been detected meaningless, but the analysis results are generally assessed and there is no meaningful effect. These findings also showed that the company’s cash flows, resulting from investment activities, have no direct relationship with the company’s performance.
