Ekonomik büyüme hem ülke ekonomisi hem de o ülkedeki hane halklarının yaşam standartlarının yükseltilmesinde çok önemli bir makro ekonomik değişkendir. Literatürden de bilindiği üzere ekonomik büyümenin istihdam artışı sağlaması beklenir. Ancak son yıllarda büyümenin istihdam yaratmaması tartışılmalara yol açmıştır. Çalışmada; istihdamsız büyüme kavramının ne ölçüde gerçek olduğu, teknolojik gelişmelerle birlikte ortaya çıkan Sanayi 4.0'ın istihdam ve ekonomik büyüme üzerinde ne kadar ve nasıl etki ettiği ve Türkiye ekonomisinin nasıl etkilendiği gibi sorulara cevap aranmaktadır. Bu çalışmada; işsizlik ve büyüme arasındaki ilişkiler incelenirken 1980-2017 yılları arası baz alınmış; Genişletilmiş Dickey-Fuller Birim Kök Testi ve Granger Nedensellik Testi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerin sonuçlarına göre; büyüme ve işsizlik arasında iki yönlü de ilişki bulunamamıştır.
Economic growth is a very important macroeconomic variable in both the country’s economy and the elevation of the living standards of the household peoples in that country. According to literature, economic growth is expected to increase employment. However, in recent years, the growth of jobs has not led to controversy. The study is looking for answers to questions such as how real the concept of unemployment growth is, how and how Industry 4.0, which arises with technological developments, affects employment and economic growth and how the Turkish economy is affected. In this study, the relationship between unemployment and growth was based between 1980 and 2017; the extended Dickey-Fuller unit root test and the Granger cause test were used. According to the results of the analysis, there is no link between growth and unemployment.
