Covid-19 Salgınının İşverenler Üzerinde Etkileri ve İşverenlerin Kadın İstihdamına Yaklaşımları

Çin’ de 2019 yılı Aralık ayında ortaya çıkan Covid-19 salgını, küresel çapta kayıplara yol açmış ve birçok ülke yönetim stratejisini değişmek zorunda kalmıştır. Ülkeler toplumun ekonomik kaygısını hafifletmeye çalışmış ancak uyguladıkları politikalar, istihdamı olumlu yönde etkilemeye yeterli olmamıştır. Hem kadın hem de erkekler için normal zamanda sorun olan istihdam, salgınla birlikte kadınlar için daha fazla problem haline gelmiştir. Yapılan bu araştırmada Covid-19 döneminde kadınların istihdam durumları analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada Ege bölgesinde bulunan işverenlerin Covid-19 salgınından etkilenip etkilenmedikleri ve kadın istihdamına karşı tutumları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırma çerçevesinde pandemi döneminde aktif olarak çalışmaya devam eden 79 işletmeyle anket yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda işverenlerin %84,9 unun salgından etkilendiği ve %72,2 sinin kadın işçilerinin çalışmasına son verdikleri görülmüştür. İşten çıkarmak istemeyen % 62 oranında işletmenin ise kadın çalışanlarına ücretsiz izin verildiği görülmüştür.

The Covid-19 epidemic in China in December 2019 has led to global losses and many countries have been forced to change their governance strategies. Countries have tried to relieve the economic concerns of society, but their policies have not been sufficient to positively impact employment. Employment, which is a problem for both women and men at normal time, has become more problem for women with the epidemic. This study analyzed the employment situation of women during the Covid-19 period. The study examined the relationship between employers in the Egean region who were affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and their attitudes towards women’s employment. The survey was conducted with 79 companies that were actively working during the pandemic period. The study found that 84.9 percent of employers were affected by the epidemic and 72.2 percent ended the work of women workers. 62 per cent of employees who do not want to leave the business have been granted free leave for women.

Countries tried to alleviate the economic anxiety of the society, but the policies they implemented were not enough to positively affect employment. Employment, which is a problem for both women and men in normal times, has become more of a problem for women with the epidemic. In this study, the employment status of women during the Covid-19 period was analyzed. In the research, the relationship between employers in the Aegean region, whether they are affected by the Covid-19 outbreak and their attitudes towards women's employment has been examined. Within the framework of the research, a survey was conducted with 79 businesses that continued to work actively during the pandemic period. As a result of the research, it was seen that 84.9% of the employers were affected by the epidemic and 72.2% of them terminated the employment of female workers. 62% of the enterprises do not want to be fired; it has been observed that female employees are given unpaid leave.
