Introduction: there is still much controversy about the benefits and risks of the strength exercises for children and adolescents. Aim: this review was done to evaluate the influence of exercise on bone strength growth of children and adolescents, trying to find scientific evidence about hypotheses of injuries or bone problems in children and adolescents derived from the exercise of force. Methods: The study was a systematic review previously registered on PROSPERO, following the instructions described in the methodological standards PRISMA. The search data began with the selection of key terms and their synonyms, following the health descriptors in DeSC (http://decs.bvs.br) and Mesh (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov / mesh/), then the filterson the basis of national and international databases: PubMed, SciELO, PEDro, and Google Scholar. Results: found after met the inclusion criteria of the study, a selection of 14 original articles and 12 systematic reviews that addressed the topic. Conclusion: the present study found that the exercise of force shows up fully reliable for the training of children and adolescents.
