Abstract:

To speak of developing and developed countries today, countries must have reached a certain level of economic and social development. In the knowledge age, the rapid development and change of developing technological developments in the social and economic field reflects the importance of technology-based infrastructure. These developments show that the influence of technological developments on the country’s and business competitiveness is very important. Although it is difficult to access information in times when the e-commerce has not evolved, it has become easy to access in recent years with the increase in technological factors and options. Communities that are able to use information and produce new information ensure that competition in the international field reaches a global level. In the national and international scope, technology is shown to be effective in the development of the business structure and in achieving competitive strength. The aim of this study is to show the impact of technological developments on the competitiveness, to emphasize the rapid increase of the share of e-commerce volume in the total trade, and in this context to examine the impact of e-commerce on the Turkish economy. SWOT analysis for the e-commerce sector in Turkey has been done, the strengths and weaknesses have been revealed, the opportunities and threats have been identified.
