Bu çalışmanın amacı, 2015-2018 dönemi için BİST Kimya, Petrol, Kauçuk ve Plastik ürünler sektöründe faaliyette bulunan firmaların finansal performansı ile pay senedi getirileri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Bu amaçla, çalışmada iki aşamadan oluşan bir analiz yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında Entropi ve MAUT yöntemlerinden oluşan hibrid birçok kriterli karar verme modeli ile firmaların finansal performansı değerlendirilmiştir. Sonrasında ise bütünleşik Entropi-MAUT modeli kapsamında seçilen firmaların hesaplanan performans sıralamaları ile aynı firmalara ait yıllık hisse senedi getirileri sıralamaları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olup olmadığı korelasyon analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Hibrid Entropi-MAUT yönteminden elde edilen bulgulara göre incelenen dönem itibariyle finansal açıdan en başarılı firmanın SODSN firmasının olduğu bununla beraber en başarısız firmanın ise SANFM firması olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, korelasyon analizi sonucunda finansal performans sıralaması ile getiri sıralaması arasında pozitif ve güçlü bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu bulgu, çalışma kapsamında incelenen sektöre yatırım yapan tasarruf sahiplerinin, yatırımları ile ilgili karar alırken firmaların geçmiş performanslarını dikkate aldıklarını ortaya koymaktadır.
The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the financial performance of companies operating in the BIST chemistry, oil, rubber and plastic products sector for the period 2015-2018 and the share revenues. For this purpose, a two-step analysis was made in the study. In the first phase of the study, the financial performance of companies was assessed with a multi-criteria decision-making model consisting of Entropi and MAUT methods. After that, the integrated Entropi-MAUT model was evaluated by the correlation analysis of whether there is a meaningful relationship between the calculated performance rankings of the selected companies and the annual share return rankings of the same companies. According to the findings obtained from the Hybrid Entropi-MAUT method, the study period has been found that the most successful company is SODSN and the most unsuccessful company is SANFM. Also, the correlation analysis found that there was a positive and strong relationship between the financial performance ranking and the return ranking. This findings show that savings owners investing in the industry under the study are taking into account the company’s past performance when making decisions about their investments.
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the financial performance and stock returns of the companies operating in the BIST Chemical, Petroleum, Rubber and Plastic products sector for the period of 2015-2018. For this purpose, an analysis consisting of two stages is carried out in the study. In the first phase of the study, the financial performance of companies is evaluated with a hybrid decision-making model consisting of Entropy and MAUT methods. Afterwards, whether there is a significant relationship between the calculated performance rankings of the firms under the integrated Entropy-MAUT model and the annual stock returns rankings of the same firms is evaluated by correlation analysis. According to the findings obtained from the integrated Entropy-MAUT method, it is determined that in terms of financial performance, the most successful company is SODSN as of the examined period, but the most unsuccessful company is SANFM. In addition, as a result of correlation analysis, a positive and significant relationship is found between financial performance ranking and return ranking. This finding reveals that savers who invest in the sector examined within the scope of the study take into account the past performances of companies when making decisions regarding their investments.
