Material and Methods: 88 males (43,8%) and 113 females (56,2%), 201 patients in total, were included in the study. The patients were selected randomly from the ones who had applied to Kilis State Hospital Radiology Policlinic due to various reasons to have antero-posterior (AP) pelvis graphics, and who did not have any waist and hip pain complaints. The ages of the patients varied between 17 and 26 years. Results: As a result of the measurements on radiological images, 67 males and 100 females, 167 in total, were included in the Study Group. There were some other patients who were excluded from the study because of the exclusion criteria. The average joint space widths in all hips were found with the measurements made at various points as follows; from the biggest to the lowest value; superolateral (SL) = 5,07 mm, superointermediate (SI) = 3,84 mm and superomedial (SM) = 3,49 mm, respectively. The joint space width in male patients (p=0.000; p=0.049) at SL= 5,30 and SI= 3,90 points was found to be wider than that of the female patients (4,92-3,80). Depending on the increases in the height and weight, it was also determined that the hip joint space width increased at SI point at a significant level (p=0.000; p=0.000). In all hips, the average VCE value was determined as 30o (21o-39o). Depending on the increase in the weight, it was determined that the VCE angle increased at a significant level (p=0.035). In addition, it was also determined that there was a negative correlation between the hip joint space values (SL, SI and SM) and VCE angle; and a positive correlation with HTE angle. The average HTE angle value in all hips was determined as 5,44o; and ad was determined as 1,32 mm. Although a positive correlation was found between ad and VCE angle, a negative correlation was determined with HTE angle. Conclusion: We believe that our findings will contribute to better understanding of radio-anatomic structure of hip joint in younger population. Keywords: Hip joint space width; VCE angle; HTE angle; Acetabular depth

Özet:

Our study aimed at determining anatomical and physiological changes in the spine joints, taking into account gender, age, size and weight parameters in young adults (addition range width, Wiberg's central edge angle = VCE, Acetabular Index angle = HTE and acetabular depth = ad). Tools and Methods: The study included a total of 201 incidents, including randomly selected 88 men (43.8%) and 113 women (56.2) who were appliced with an antero-posterior (AP) pelvis graph for various reasons, without any complaint of back and back pain, ages ranging from 17 to 26 (20.98±1.76) and randomly selected 88 men (43.8%) and 113 women (56.2). Results: Measurements on radiological images resulted in our study group taking 167 people, including 67 men and 100 women. The rest were not included in the work due to the criteria for dismissal. The average joint range widths in all the edges were found in order from large to small by measurements from different points as superolateral (SL) = 5,07 mm, superintermediate (SI) = 3,84 mm and superomedial (SM) = 3,49 mm. The width of the joint range in men SL = 5.30 and SI = 3.90 points was found broader than in women (4.92-3.80) (p = 0,000; p = 0.049). Depending on the size and weight increase, it was found that the width of the column joint range increased significantly at the SL point (p=0,000; p=0,000). The average VCE value in all the heads was determined as 30o (21o-39o). Due to the weight gain, the VCE angle was significantly increased (p=0.035). It was also found that there was a positive correlation between the valve range values (SL, SI and SM) and the VCE angle. The average HTE angle value in all heads was 5.44o, and the ad was 1.32 mm. While there was a positive correlation between the ad and VCE angle, a negative correlation with the HTE angle was observed. The result: We believe that our findings will contribute to a better understanding of the radio-anatomic structure of the young population's column joint.
