Abstract:

Due to new developments in many industries, the increasing effectiveness of existing ones, and the ever-increasing urban population, from the beginning of this century, have caused pollution of natural sources and environmental issues. Nowadays, some of the most important factors of the environmental pollution are oil and oil products. Expansion of the oil industry and the oil market, oil scattering as a result of the explosions,leakage and waste from tanks during unloading of petroleum products have resulted in the environmental pollution.Bio-remediation is a process that uses microorganisms to change harmful substances into non-toxic compounds and it is a promising technique for purification of liquids and hazardous wastes. Applications in environmental biotechnology will be increased by the environmental sensitivities. Today, many cities around the world are using microorganisms to clean waste water and the number of these cities areexpected to increase rapidly.
