Abstract:

Esophageal injuries are a clinical condition that requires urgent intervention and delays in diagnosis and treatment lead to a significant increase in morbidity and mortality. Foreign body aspiration is more common in children, but it is more common in adults, people with psychiatric disorders or mental retardation, prisoners and alcohol addicts. Underlying esophageal or systemic diseases may predispose to foreign object ingestion in the esophagus in adults. Esophagus in foreign bodies; Symptoms such as epigastric pain, dysphagia, hypersalivation, odynophagia may be asymptomatic as observed. Esophageal foreign bodies are significant due to the life-threatening complications they may cause. Thus, early diagnosis and treatment are crucial. History, physical examination and radyological findings is very important for diagnosis of foreign body aspiration. Othervise, the morbidity and mortality may be unavoidable. In this article, we aimed to present information about an adult patient in the population, which is not seen very frequently, about swallowing the dental prosthesis and the treatment process with bronchoscopy method.
