Özet:

Aim of this study is to have an idea about society and politics understandings shown by political power in single party period of Turkish political life between 1923 and 1945. In this context, problematic concentrated on is what the effective factors on society and politics understandings are in the single party period and how the system is running. In the study, descriptive and historical methods were used together, while researching looked for answers about some questions such as what the characteristic features and historical evolution of single party period and what are the basics of periods society and politics understandings are. According to main results of the study, period is a focus age of national integration, economic improvement, and political modernization aim. In this context political and social structure tried to shape by hands of state, more than modernization westernization is in the foreground and lastly marked applications are nationalization, authoritarianism, laicism, command democracy, statism and elitism. In addition to these, in popular discourse especially on ignored result can be mentioned. In this result, evaluations of period, in which nation state, authoritarian state and single party system are a mixture, although there are characterization like anti-democratic, oppressive, anti-pluralist, process is a ground for democratization from the spirit of time.
