Abstract:

Because sufficient measurements are not made and the measurement tools are expensive, the diffuse radiation from the horizontal layer, using the total radiation data from the horizontal layer, is calculated by a variety of models. In this study, using the diffuse radiation models given in literature, the horizontal flat diffuse radiation values for Sanlıurfa were calculated and the results obtained from the models were compared with the measurement data. In the analysis, the 7 year horizontal total and diffuse solar radiation data obtained from the solar tracking system measurement system located in Sanlıurfa or Harran University's Department of Mechanical Engineering were used. The statistical errors of the 5 different diffuse radiation models are calculated. The diffuse radiation has changed over time and statistical errors have found that the best model is the model developed by Erbs and his friends. In addition, the widely used model Liu and Jordan has been found to show a great deviation from the measurement data.
