Abstract:

Hanehalkları bireysel kullanım, tasarruf yapmak veya statü elde etmek gibi amaçlar ile otomobil talep etmektedirler. Bireyler bu amaçlarını gerçekleştirebilmek ve otomobile duyulan ihtiyacını giderebilmek için birinci veya ikinci el otomobil satın alma yoluna başvurmaktadırlar. Çalışmanın amacı, hanehalklarının birinci veya ikinci el araba satın alımında etkili olan sosyoekonomik faktörleri belirlemektir. Çalışmanın kapsamını, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu’nun 2018 yılı Hanehalkı Bütçe Araştırması B Mikro Veri Setinde yer alan birinci el araç satın alan 144 ve ikinci el araç satın alan 1058 hanehalkına ait veri seti oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın analizinde, Sıralı Logit modeli kullanılmıştır. Model tahmin sonuçlarına göre birinci el otomobil satın alımında gelir, hane tipi ve otomobil sahipliği ikinci el otomobil satın alımında ise gelir, medeni durum, konut ve otomobil sahipliği ile aile reisinin çalışma durumu etkili bulunmuştur.

The Factors That Effect New and Second Hand Car Purchase Of Households In Turkey: Ordered Logit Model

Abstract:

Households demand automobiles for several purposes such as personal use, saving or boosting their status. In order to achieve this objective and meet the automobile needs of individuals, individuals prefer to buy first or secondhand automobiles. The aim of this study is to determine the socioeconomic factors which are effective on purchasing first of secondhand automobiles by the households. The scope of the study, data set belonging to 1058 households who have purchased secondhand automobiles and 144 households who have purchased firs hand automobiles included in the B Micro Data Set of 2018 Household Budget Research by the TurkStat (Turkish Statistical Institute) was used. The study was estimated using the Ordered Logit model. According to the model estimation results, income, household type and automobile ownership was found to be effective in firsthand automobile purchasing and marital status, house and automobile ownership and working status of the head of the family was found to be effective in the secondhand automobile purchasing.
