Introduction: The widely held conviction that blank-firing guns are harmless does not reflect the truth. Injuries particularly affecting the head, neck, abdomen, and chest regions of the human body caused by these guns may be serious and fatal. This case report aims at attracting attention to potential difficulties in the diagnosis and treatment based on the technical structures and injury-causing features of blank-firing guns. Case Report: A forty-one year old male patient shot himself in the mouth using a blank-firing gun for suicide and then referred to our clinic. His physical examination revealed ecchymosis and mucosa defects with 1-2 mm black soot in the patient’s uvula and frontal plica of the left tonsil. His neck tomography showed the bullet of the blank-firing gun in the left tonsil bed, away from the vein-nerve bundle.Conclusion: Although blank-firing guns are considered harmless by the general, they may cause very serious injuries and even fatalities
