Considering GDP levels and economic growth rates, India is one of the largest economies in the world, and the level of income per person is quite low due to its crowded population. India, which is the two biggest problems of overpopulation and poverty, has managed to maintain a low inflation rate for many years. The aim of the study is to identify the existence and direction of the relationship between India’s economic growth and GDP values per person and inflation. In this study, the relationship between inflation and economic growth in India, with the help of VAR analysis and causality analysis, was studied using annual data from the period 1980 to 2014. Granger causes analysis identified the one-way causal relationship from growth to inflation, one-way from GDP per person to inflation and one-way from growth to GDP per person.
Considering the GDP level and economic growth rate data, India is one of the largest economies in the world and the per capita income level is very low due to its large population. India, where overpopulation and poverty are the two biggest problems, has managed to maintain a low rate of inflation over many years. The aim of the study is to determine the existence and direction of the relationship between India's economic growth and GDP per capita and inflation. In this study, the relationship between inflation and economic growth in India has been investigated with the help of VAR analysis and causality analysis by using 1980 - 2014 period annual data. As a result of Granger causality analysis one-way causality from growth to inflation, one-way causality from GDP per capita to inflation, and one-way causality from growth to GDP per capita were determined.
