Sanayileşen devletler için iyi bir pazar ve hammadde kaynağı olan Osmanlı coğrafyası şüphesiz ki çok önceden beri Avrupalı devletlerin dikkatini çekmekteydi. Doğu ve Batı arasında bir köprü niteliğinde olan İstanbul ve Boğazlar, Birinci Dünya Savaşı'nın kilit noktalarındandı. Bu noktalara sahip olmak isteyen İtilaf Devletleri, Osmanlı Devleti'ni yıkıp topraklarını paylaşmak niyetindeydiler. İtilaf Devletleri'ne karşı ayrı bir cephe kuran İttifak Devletleri ise Türk Devleti’ni destekleyerek, Osmanlı Devleti'nin hâkim olduğu coğrafyadan istifade etmeyi planlamıştı. Bu gelişme üzerine Osmanlı Devleti, Birinci Dünya Savaşı başlamadan önce Avrupalı devletlerle çeşitli ittifak arayışlarına girişti. İngiltere ve Rusya ile yapılmak istenen ittifak gerçekleşemeyince Osmanlı Devleti Almanya ile ittifak yapma kararı aldı. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı Devleti'nin İttifak Devletleri saflarında yer alışı ve Birinci Dünya Savaşı'na girişi, Rus belgelerine dayanılarak ortaya konmaya çalışılacaktır.
The Ottoman geography, which is a good market and a source of raw materials for industrialized states, has undoubtedly attracted the attention of European states for a long time. Istanbul and Boğazlar, which are a bridge between the east and the west, were the key points of the First World War. The opposition states who wanted to possess these points intended to destroy the Ottoman State and share their lands. The Allied States, which established a separate front against the opposition states, had planned to take advantage of the geography where the Ottoman State ruled, by supporting the Turkish State. On this development, the Ottoman State entered into various alliances with European states before the Beginning of the First World War. When the agreement with Britain and Russia failed to be made, the Ottoman State decided to make a alliance with Germany. In this study, the participation of the Ottoman State in the Allied States and entry into the First World War will be attempted to reveal on the basis of Russian documents.

The Alliance, which established a separate front against the Entente Powers, supported the Turkish State and planned to exploit the geography dominated by the Ottoman Empire. Upon this development, the Ottoman Empire, before the start of the First World War, began to seek alliance with the European states. The Ottoman Empire decided to make an alliance with Germany, since the alliance could not be actualized with England and Russia. In this study, the participation of the Ottoman Empire to the ranks of the Alliance and its entrance to the First World War will be tried to express based on Russian documents.
