Purpose of the Research: The mathnawi named “Leyla vu Mecnun” is to be analysed by the means of Girard’s theory named “triangular desire model”. Data Sources: The theory of Réne Girard described as “triangular desire model” and Fuzuli’s mathnawi named “Leyla vu Mecnun” with other supporting sources. Main Discussion: Whether the main structure of Fuzuli’s mathnawi composed of a love story in the form of a straight line exemplifying a “romantic lie”, based upon the direct relation of the subject and the object or a work which verifies the thesis of “novelist truth” which occurs in a form that the desire of subject transforms from love for Leyla to God “the mediator” and divine love. Results: It will be stated that the structure of the work in which love of Kays and Leyla seems as a direct relation without a third party mediator and which makes anyone think the work as a “romantic lie” construction, is exactly a sample of “novelist truth” existing in a form that subject directs its desire from Leyla and love for her towards God and divine love
